The Athlete Mastermind
As a psychology graduate of McMaster University, player of the decade and until recently the All-Time career interception leader at McMaster; founder of House Edge Media, Jesse Card, is turning his attention to an athlete specific support system and advisory group. House Edge Management Group will help build online electronic profiles for athletes including TV show appearances, recruitment videos, game footage and press clippings so athletes and their coaches can promote the athlete and identify opportunities for them.
Jesse details his desire to build this group, "With the Media company, we wanted to bring a higher production level to amateur sports in Ottawa and Ontario. However, we found that producing highlights for players wasn't enough. Lot's of players have highlight videos, but sometimes they aren't seen by anyone. I think player development in sport is about so much more than skill and a highlight video. It's just as much about marketing and staying motivated to do all the extra things along the journey. Having a support group helping you with your recruitment materials, advocating on your behalf, and having accomplished athletes around you to help mentor you along your journey is equally important. That is what we hope to accomplish with HEMG.
The Management Group will also act as a mentorship group including support from a University Professor, Lawyer, Family Advisors, Entrepreneurs and current CIS and NCAA athletes.
